There's no changing our conviction that this long established favourite which so successfully re-launched one year ago is still the best Indian restaurant in town. A beacon of consistency, its' service, wines and food are always excellent.

Suzan & Talbot

With an elegant modern refit about year ago, this Street Indian has gone from strength to strength; wonderful contemporary cuisine, and helpful, knowledgeable staff make it the best all-round upmarket sub- continental in town.

Jhon Harper

Not so much Bollywood as jolly, jolly good! Spices are roasted and stocks are made on a daily basis, a detail that makes comparison with sophisticated western food a real possibility.

Criss & Shela

This is one of Street's most stylish and glamorous Indian restaurants and staff.

Robin

Still evolving after all these years, the refurbished Saffron is the king of Street, boasting inviting décor, accommodating service, and sublime Indian cooking with a different zest that reveals some flavours that exist nowhere in the West.

Mark Gabana

Saffron is Street 2nd oldest Indian restaurant, and also one of it's best with standards remaining eminently high, combining food that is second to none, with exceptionally polite staff, offering a menu that is as stylish and imaginative as the décor. and concludes by saying "no one is grumbling over value for money. We found for example the Tandoori Chicken "wonderfully succulent", Lamb Biryani "excellent" and complimented the wines and service. There's stunningly good regional Indian cooking, a wide variety of flavours and textures and all with well balanced spicing.

"I regularly visit Saffron as I have never found the food to be less than delicious and the service friendly and prompt.Mr Mahmud and his staff always make my family and myself feel right at home. There is a large and varied selection of dishes so it is always hard to choose! The Sunday buffet is very generous and good value for money. After the redecoration the interior is looking very smart too with high quality prints livening up the walls.I recently mentioned how my mother used to put pineapple in my fried rice as a child and sure enough the next time I visited Saffron my rice appeared with pineapple! It is this thoughtful attention to detail that always make a trip to Saffron worthwhile."

Heather Proud

"I've tried them all and this is the best Indian restaurant in the Street, Glastonbury area"
